September 2020: Solutions Lab Kicks Off
The ShelterCare Solutions Lab is a collaborative process that uses human-centred design to create many small solutions to a complex problem like ending homelessness. The first stages of the Solutions Lab are now complete and summarized in the following posts:

August 2020: Responding to COVID-19 through ShelterCare
A lot has changed since last year’s Friendship Dinner, where we launched our vision of ShelterCare.
Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it new challenges – as well as new opportunities. House of Friendship’s Shelter program has moved to a hotel to provide the physical distancing needed to keep everyone safe. This, along with health-care supports, has led to early implementation of ShelterCare.

October 2019: ShelterCare Vision Launched at the Friendship Dinner
At House of Friendship’s 24th Annual Friendship Dinner, held on Oct. 26, the vision for ShelterCare was shared with an enthusiastic audience at Lot 42. Housing Services Director Jessica Bondy and Executive Director John Neufeld invited community members to “join us at the table” to make the vision of ShelterCare a reality.
