We can make this vision a reality, together.
Through your leadership, ideas, and problem-solving spirit, the ShelterCare vision can become a reality!
House of Friendship is championing ShelterCare alongside members of the Inner City Health Alliance and many other community partners.
Established in 1939, House of Friendship walks alongside individuals and families in Waterloo Region who need food, housing, access to vital community resources, or addiction treatment.
For adults struggling with homelessness, House of Friendship has operated an Emergency Shelter program for 80 years, and offers permanent supportive and affordable housing for 86 men and women, supporting them as they recover from homelessness.

The Inner City Health Alliance is a new responsive local village of health and social support agencies serving those living in vulnerable conditions, specifically those at risk of experiencing homelessness and refugees. These community partners are coming together to strategically align resources and create new ways of supporting people to improve their wellbeing through timely, coordinated, and integrated health and social services that make sense for the person at that time.
